Color and Its Effects


When we speak of color and diamonds most customers will think with beautiful reds, blues, and yellows are what we are talking about in a diamond. While these are colors, they are not what we are speaking of. Color grading is very easy to understand if explained correctly. Unfortunately, most people who sell diamonds don't understand how color affects the look of the stone.

If you ask for a color grade on a diamond, you are asking for the tone or the depth of the internal color of the stone. Diamond is crystallized carbon. When carbon crystallizes, it turns a color other than white. Only 5% of all diamonds
